TAPS Industries Pty Ltd the supplier is also referred to as “TAPS ” or “TAPS Industries” The below terms of trades apply to all customers, except where a specific contract is in place with its own terms.

Payment

  • is due immediately upon completion of work, unless you have a credit account with TAPS Industries.
  • Payment must be made by cash or card on the day of works, you will be provided a receipt for your payment.
  • You must ensure you or another person are present while work is carried out to make this payment.
  • No other payment types are approved unless agreed in writing prior to works being carried out.
  • We offer payment plans through a third party company. There is an eligibility criteria and additional costs will be incurred. You must request and be approved for a payment plan prior to works being carried out otherwise you will not be eligible for this option.
  • Commercial clients may be offered a temporary 7 day account until a 30 day account is established. This temporary account may be revoked at any time at the discretion of TAPS management.

Quotes

  • are valid for 30 days and do not include any unforeseen extras.
  • By accepting the quotation you agree to all terms and conditions.

Blockage clearing

  • Due to the unpredictable nature of blockages, we cannot always guarantee successful clearance, and further costs may be incurred if additional work is required.
  • In the event that any of our machinery becomes stuck due to obstructions such as roots, debris, or damaged pipework, the client will be responsible for any costs associated with the retrieval or removal of the equipment. 

Camera inspection

  • Camera inspection is highly recommended if blockages return to find the cause.
  • We cannot guarantee full visibility of the sewer line. Depending on the layout of the pipework, the camera may only provide us with part of the picture. Where water is held in the line, footage becomes unusable, and certain sections of the sewer may not be accessible by camera.
  • In the event that our sewer inspection camera becomes stuck due to obstructions such as roots, debris, or damaged pipework, the client will be responsible for any costs associated with the retrieval or removal of the equipment. 

Overdue accounts

All goods remain the sole property of TAPS Industries until payment has been made in full. If payment is not made TAPS reserves the right to repossess those goods

If the client defaults in payment by the due date of any amount payable to TAPS Industries then all money which would become payable by the client to TAPS at a later date on any account, becomes immediately due and payable without the requirement of any notice to the client, and TAPS may, without prejudice to any of its other accrued or contingent rights:

  1. charge the client interest on any sum due at the rate of 15% per annum for the period from the due date until the date of payment.
  2. charge the client for, and the client must indemnify TAPS from, all costs and expenses (including without limitation indemnity legal costs and debt collection costs and commissions) incurred by the company resulting from the default or in taking action to enforce compliance with the deed or to recover any goods.
  3. cease or suspend supply of any further goods or services to the client.
  4. terminate any uncompleted contract with the client.

Compliance Certificates 

  • Copies of compliance certificates are available once payment of the invoice is made in full.
  • If an urgent certificate is required you must make payment and show proof via remittance prior to a copy being provided.

Invoice queries

  • All invoice queries must be submitted in accordance with applicable consumer protection regulations, including those administered by the the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), to ensure compliance and protect both parties. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to assist with any questions you may have about your invoice.

Warranty

  • TAPS stand by their work and will warrant any fair and reasonable claim of workmanship or product issues.
  • We may need to send someone to investigate prior to accepting your warranty claim.
  • Warranty periods are specified by the manufacturer and may require a third party to attend to investigate, we will assist with all warranty claims for faulty products.
  • Not all product warranties include labour costs, we will notify you if there are any charges prior to commencing works.                     

Variations

  • All extras or alterations not included in the quotation shall be at the cost of the client

Materials

  • Once our quote is approved, we will order materials, if you cancel after this stage there will be costs associated with returning materials. Some materials cannot be returned in which case you will be charged the full cost.

Defects

  • TAPS Industries shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from insufficient or defective foundations, walls or other surfaces not erected by TAPS Industries.
  • Should TAPS Industries in the course of any authorised work, discover any defect in any part of the premises or the existing installation which makes it impracticable to continue work under a contract or quote without repairing or replacing any part of the premises or installation this will cost extra and be charged at an hourly rate.
  • Any damage to existing services not located by the client and which could not reasonably be located by TAPS will be repaired at the clients cost and is not included in the quotation.
  • It is assumed that existing installations comply with statutory regulations. Any work additional to the work to be performed ordered by any competent Authority, local Authority inspector or person authorised by an authority will incur additional costs.

Excavations

  • Excavation quotes do not allow for any rock breaking that is required during excavation, as this requires additional equipment and time further costs will be charged accordingly.
  • Surplus excavated material will be neatly stacked in a location convenient for topping up trenches in the event of subsidence. If removal from site is required, this will incur additional costs unless otherwise specified in our quotation.
  • The client shall accept all responsibility for informing the contractor of the location of any underground cables, services or similar, and for any damage caused by the contractor to any such items if the client failed to accurately identify them to the contractor.
  • Our quotations exclude any concreting works, reinstatement of concrete, if required, is the responsibility of the client unless otherwise specified in our quotation.

Clients Materials

  • If any fixture, fittings or materials are supplied by the client, all care will be taken, but fixtures, fittings and materials will be stored, handled and installed at the client’s risk.

Other contractors

  • Our quotation does not include other trades work such as electricians, carpenter, cabinet maker, tiler unless otherwise stated in the quotation.

Access holes

  • Repairing of holes cut to gain access to defective pipes shall be by others and at the client’s expense unless otherwise stated in the quotation.
  • You should contact your insurance regarding these repairs as this is often covered by them.
